Week 11 has passed us by, and there were plenty of interesting story lines in the top flight of the Island Soccer League – Division 1.
Here is a quick snapshot of what happened.
-Friday night at Sherman Rd Turf saw Cowichan edge out Gorge.
Cowichan goals by Stevan Zoric and returnee Craig Gorman.
Mike Moon had the lone marker for Gorge.
-In the Game Of The Week – Lakehill edged out Westcastle 3-2.
A very nice individual effort by Goteh Ntigness as he scored a pair for Westcastle.
Scoring for the Reds was Wesley Barrett, Blair Sturrock, and Keegan Lang.
Man of the Match honors went to Lakehill’s Blair Sturrock.
-A lop sided match in Oak Bay had Bays Utd defeat a shorthanded Fernwood by score of 14-0.
Clean sheet by Keeper Andrew Flello who was not too busy.
Bays goals – Manny Straith, Craig Robertson, Adam Ravenhill with 2, Brandon Wallace, James Rhodes with 4, and Patrick Nelson with 5.
-In what almost turned out to be a huge upset in Ladysmith, Mid Isle & Comox drew 2-2.
Comox goals by Darren Bergh & Travis Brown.
Mid Isle goals by Ryan Andre & Matt Arnett in the 90th minute.
-The final game of the weekend saw Vic West and Nanaimo tie eachother 1-1.
Vic West goal by Nic Budisa who has been a welcomed addition to the green and white.
The Nanaimo goal was scored by midfielder Matt Mehrassa.
