Here is what is on tap for the upcoming weekend as VISL’s Division 1 has a full slate of games happening.
-Gorge is hosting Bays at Hampton and the game should be an interesting one.
Gorge will look to build on a decent game vs Mid Isle last week where they lost 2-0. FC is also coming off a loss to their Div 3 Gorge Us-Guys team in the McGavin Cup Final on Monday.
Bays will hope to keep pushing especially after their hard fought 1-0 victory over Vic West last week.
-At Merle Logan Turf, Comox look to get more points after they received their first last weekend.
It will be a tough match vs Nanaimo Utd who are coming off a loss to Lakehill.
-The young guns are back in action at Westhills on Saturday as they host division leaders Mid Isle Mariners.
This should be a great little match. Definitely the biggest tilt of the weekend.
Will be a great game to take in.
-Also on Saturday, Vic West will look to right the path as they host Lakehill at Finlayson.
Vic West is coming off a last minute loss to Bays from last week. They also might remember the last game vs Lakehill as it was also some late minute magic the gave the Reds the full 3 points.
Lakehill is coming off a big win vs Nanaimo and will look to keep things going.
-Fernwood host Cowichan on Sunday at Blanshard if it is still open. The team drew eachother the first game of the season.
Fernwood has picked up 4 points in their last 2 games so they will look to move up the standings a bit.
Cowichan had last week off, and suffered a loss to Nanaimo the week before – pretty sure they will be hungry to play.
Hopefully a little bit of decent weather……….an some good soccer to take in.
