Wow, wow, wow – this was a weekend to be remembered for local top flight soccer in Division 1!
Some story lines from this past weekend:
-Cowichan defeated Vantreights in a Fog match, but kept division scoring leader Patrick Nelson off the score sheet.
-Bays comes up with a back to back big win as they defeat a UVic infused Lakehill squad.
-In the Game Of The Week – Nanaimo took down VI Wave with Keeper Geoff Hackett picking up MVP honors. Daragh Fitzgerald notches 2 goals to earn a share of top spot on the goal scoring leaderboard.
-Another big game, and one would classify as an upset – Comox Valley host Gorge FC and defeat them 2-1.
-In more upset news, Westcastle defeated 2nd place Vic West 2-1. Screams of joy heard from Cowichan neighborhoods.
