Week 8 is fast approaching, and the top flight has almost completed a full round of games.
Here is what Division 1 has in store over Halloween weekend.
Some tasty games to say the least:
-Friday starts off at Braefoot Park where Lakehill hosts Vic West.
Lakehill has been rolling again after their loss to Westcastle, and they will look to kick Vic West while they are down.
The Greens have lost 3 in a row and will look to get back into the conversation.
-Oak Bay High will be the sight of Bays Utd hosting cross city rivals Gorge FC.
Bays are at the top of the division and undefeated. Gorge are middle of the pack and undefeated.
Will something give, or will they decide to draw and keep it friendly?
-Saturday will see struggling Nanaimo host Westcastle.
This will be a tough match for the Reds as they are suffering from early season injuries.
Westcastle will look to keep pace with the division leaders – taking into account that they have played 1 less game than the rest.
-Another mid island game on Saturday night will see Mid Isle host Juan de Fuca Allflows.
Mid Isle will look to earn their first points of the season, while JDF will look to get out of the relegation zone.
-Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday – Cowichan will host Powell River in Duncan.
Cowichan has been rolling and will want to keep moving up the ladder after their slow start.
Powell River has been earning some points in their last few games – will look to earn at least a point on the road.
Here are the tables going into the weekend – there is no doubt that they will change and there will be some movement in positioning.
Thanks for supporting local soccer.
