On the Men’s side, EDC Burnaby needed extra time to defeat Inter FC 3-1. The Chileans nursed a one goal lead throughout the second half before conceding a penalty to Inter shortly before the end of the 90. The tighly-contested extra time was blown open in the second period, after EDC was awarded a controversial penalty, which resulted in Inter being reduced to ten men after receiving a red card for dissent. Inter & EDC would lose additional players to red cards later in extra time, finishing the match 9 & 10 respectively. EDC added a third goal on a counter attack just prior to full time, ensuring their first ever provincial crown.
The Women’s A Final featured two of the top clubs from the MWSL. North Shore SC Renegades were looking to topple the defending cup champions from Surrey United. Despite many chances for both sides, the match remained 0-0 after 120 minutes. North Shore prevailed on penalties 5-4, securing their spot in the National Championship this Fall in Calgary.
