Club Inter claim first BC Provincial title with battling win over Aldergrove United – AFTN
Vancouver’s Club Inter are BC’s new Provincial Champions. The VMSL side saw off the challenge of FVSL champs Aldergrove United to come away with a 2-0 victory at Burnaby Lake on Sunday in a match which entertained in the first half, disappointed in the second, and ended with a mass brawl that saw a number of red cards dished out in stoppage time.
Two Men’s Teams Crowned 2017 BC Soccer Provincial Champions – BCSA
BC Soccer crowned two adult men’s soccer teams Provincial Champions, this week with one team earning a berth into the Canada Soccer Club Nationals. The two Men’s Provincial Cup matches took place on Sunday May 14th, at Burnaby Lake.
PDL NW Update: Highlanders roll, Rovers get a point – GoalWA
The Premier Development League Northwest Division saw two matches played over the weekend. On Friday night at Burnaby BC the new club TSS Rovers got their first point (photos) in a 2-2 draw with visiting Lane United (Eugene, OR.) On Sunday Victoria Highlanders made their 2017 debut with a 4-1 win over Lane.
Highlanders Buoyed to Victory despite Lane’s Aces – Northern Starting XI
The opening weekend for the Victoria Highlanders FC was full of action for the team and fans, and we aren’t just talking on the pitch. Friday night started with a season ticket holders event. Saturday saw two supporters groups, Victoria’s Lake Side Buoys and Lane’s Red Aces, meet up for some pre-match mingling. And finally, Sunday saw the two teams and supporters groups facing off both on the field, and in the stands. With autographs happening after the match, there was plenty of opportunity to fans to shake hands with players as things kicked into gear for the 2017 season.

Slurpee Cup returning to Kamloops – Kamloops This Week
The 39th edition of the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association’s flagship tournament — the Slurpee Cup — will see 175 teams taking part in the longest running youth soccer tournament in the Interior.
Cairine Wilson players twin with sister team in British Columbia – Ottawa Community News
The girls soccer team at Cairine Wilson Secondary School has been using sport as a way to explore the country. The team recently returned from a trip to British Columbia, where they were twinned with a sister team at Riverside Secondary School in Port Coquitlam, B.C. The girls from Cairine Wilson billeted with the British Columbia players and their families, and the Riverside team will come to Ottawa at the end of June, staying through the big Canada 150 weekend over July 1.

Adult soccer leagues consider amalgamating – Prince George Citizen
May 13 at 7:15 at the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League clubhouse, the findings of a 15-month feasibility study to consider amalgamating the city’s three adult soccer leagues will be revealed in a question-and-answer session. The executive of one of those leagues – the B.C. Indoor Soccer League – is recommending its members reject the idea of joining forces with the North Cariboo men’s league under one umbrella, which would also include the Prince George Women’s Soccer Association (PGWSA).

TSN Becomes Canada’s Official Broadcaster of the CONCACAF GOLD CUP and Scotiabank CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE with Multi-Year Rights Agreement – Bell Media
TSN today announced a new, multi-year rights agreement with the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) which sees Canada’s Sports Leader become the official broadcaster of the CONCACAF GOLD CUP and Scotiabank CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

A CSA spokesman said while there is no current physical home for the Hall, artifacts will be shared among soccer groups across the country. The Hall also plans to expand its soccer research and records.

Today the Vancouver Whitecaps announced the signing of New Zealand U-20 striker Myer Bevan to WFC2, pending receipt of his Canadian work permit. He is expected to join the team following the completion of the U-20 World Cup which takes place in South Korea this summer.
