It’s been an amazing nine point week for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Saturday’s showdown at BMO Field will certainly go down as the MLS Match of the Season so far, and possibly the team’s best of the MLS era. We have match recaps and highlights.

It’s going to be tough to top that week. After a victory over the defending MLS Cup champs, a spectacular bicycle kick winner vs. Chicago Fire, and a thriller vs. Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC now sit third in the Western Conference with 20 points and a 6W-5L-2D record.
With renewed focus, Hurtado a difference-maker – The Province
Erik Hurtado went 14 months between Major League Soccer starts. He’s made sure that won’t happen again. “He’s done himself a world of good,” Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson said after Saturday’s 4-3 roller-coaster win over Toronto at BMO Field. MLS Weekend Rewind: Week 11 – SBI
New York City FC picked up their third straight victory on Sunday, giving them a share of the Eastern Conference lead. The Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC, meanwhile, shared some of the weekend’s best moments in a seven-goal affair at BMO Field. Here’s a closer look at all of this past weekend’s MLS action:

New York City FC came away with all three points from their long, cross country road trip after their 2-1 win over the defending champion Timbers on Sunday. But things didn’t exactly go as planned.

Miroslav Klose’s successful career in Europe could have come to a close on Sunday, but the veteran German striker says he’s not done playing just yet. With the New York Red Bulls reportedly among the contenders to sign the 37-year-old, as well as 2.Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern, Klose hasn’t revealed his future plans although insists he won’t retire.
Kamara debut provides noticeable lift to Revolution offense – SBI
Kei Kamara may not have found the back of the net on Saturday night in his New England Revolution debut but the 6-foot-3 target man still made enough of a difference to help the Revs snap out of a six-game winless streak in front of a sizable home crowd at Gillette Stadium.

Richmond FC wins BC Cup provincial women’s title – CSA
Richmond FC defeated their “nemesis” North Shore Girls SC to win their first BC Cup women’s premier title. The Richmond club won 4:0 in the 15 May final at Westhills Stadium in Langford, British Columbia, earning the province’s lone spot at the 2016 Sport Chek National Championships in St. John’s, Newfoundland Labrador.
Surrey Pegasus FC wins BC Cup provincial men’s title – CSA
Surrey Pegasus are on the hunt for a second national title after winning the 2016 BC Soccer men’s provincial title in Langford, BC. The former champions won 2:1 over Coquitlam Metro Ford SC Wolves in the 14 May British Columbia final, clinching their province’s spot at the Sport Chek National Championships from 5-10 October in St. John’s, Newfoundland Labrador.
Four Men’s Teams Crowned 2016 BC Soccer Provincial Champions – BCSA
BC Soccer Assoc. crowned four adult men’s soccer teams Provincial Champions, two of which will be heading to the Canada Soccer Club Nationals. The four Men’s Provincial Cup matches took place on Saturday May 14th, at Westhills Stadium in Langford with the women’s provincial champinoship matches taking place on Sunday May 15th.

BC Soccer Assoc. crowned three adult women soccer teams Provincial Champions today. The three Women’s Provincial Cup matches took place on Sunday May 15, at Westhills Stadium in Langford.

Week 8 of the USL season was marked by significant milestones for the league and for individual teams. FC Cincinnati had the biggest weekend with not only another home win but also a new record in attendance for USL with over 23,000 fans.
