Women’s soccer adds six recruits for 2018 at Nike Spring Classic – UVic
University of Victoria Vikes women’s soccer head coach Tracy David announced the addition of six new recruits to the program in an event held during the Nike Spring Classic women’s high school tournament on April 13.

Now the focus shifts to the conference athlete of the year awards, which will be announced in conjunction with U SPORTS at a later date, and then the national stage. The BLG Awards, which honour the top athletes in U SPORTS, will be handed out Monday, June 4 in Vancouver as part of the U SPORTS annual general meeting.

Darian Achurch robbed a lot of opposing soccer players of goals this season. Now, at least in the view of his coach, it’s Achurch who has been robbed. Achurch led the Vancouver Island Soccer League’s top division in every goaltending category in his first year of Div. 1 competition, but when it came time to honour the most outstanding goalie in the league, he was denied.

South American confederation CONMEBOL has pledged the votes of its 10 member associations to the United 2026 bid (Canada, Mexico and the US). Fresno Football Club announced Thursday the signing of goalkeeper Sam Howard to the club’s USL roster, pending league and federation approval. Howard, 25, is signed through the end of the 2018 USL season and will look to add to the Foxes’ goalkeeping arsenal behind starter Kyle Reynish.
Rescheduled Date for TFC II, Fury FC Announced – USL
The USL regular season game between Toronto FC II and Ottawa Fury FC originally scheduled for March 31 at BMO Field will now take place at Lamport Stadium on Wednesday, September 26.

NWSL is getting good at these opening acts. The latest one played out Saturday in the Wasatch Valley where Rio Tinto Stadium, known affectionately as The RioT, welcomed its newest tenant, Utah Royals FC. Five months ago, Dell Loy Hansen purchased a team from NWSL and promised to treat his new female side in an identical manner as his existing men’s team Real Salt Lake.
