VISL Jackson Cup Quarterfinal Results

So close to being another huge upset this past weekend in the Jackson Cup Quarter Finals.


In Quarter Final #1 – It was a late goal by Saanich Fusion to tie the game up at 1-1 after Prospect Lake led almost to the end.

After 2 x 15 extra time halves, the score was still 1-1.

It took penalty kicks to get Saanich Fusion Division 1 past Prospect Lake Division 2.

Saanich Fusion win 2-1.

In Quarter Final #2 – Cowichan Division 1 defeated Nanaimo Division 1 by score of 3-1.

Teams were tied 1-1 going into the half, but Nanaimo took a red card and Cowichan capitalized with 2 goals.

Cowichan goals – Cooper Barry, Jesse Winter, Kevan Brown.

In Quarter Final #3 – Bays United Division 1 over Nanaimo Division 2 by score of 2-0.

Just a 1-0 game for Bays till late in the match when the 2nd goal ended the chances for the Div 2 team upsetting the Bays boys.

Nanaimo – Shutout by Bays keeper Elliot Mitrou.


In Quarter Final #4 – Westcastle Division 1 defeated Lakehill Division 1 by score of 3-2.

Westcastle dominated early, but Lakehill held their own and stuck around making this game pretty close.

Giant killers;  Westcastle are through.

Lakehill goals – Tim Hempsall, Avi Bachra

Westcastle – Jorde French, Zack Bougraine x 2.


Semi Finals will take place the weekend of March 18-20.

Both games will most likely be Friday March 18.

1 game at Tyndall, the other at UVic.

Both Jackson Cup Finalists qualify for the BC Provincial Cup.

Draw is here in Victoria on Tuesday April 5, 6:30 pm in Distrikt at the Strathcona Hotel.

BC Cup Finals are Saturday May 14 at Westhills in Langford.
