VISL Cup Finalists Set

A busy weekend up and down the Island as semifinals for 3 of 4 Major Cups were taking place.

All 4 VISL Cup Finals have confirmed Finalists.

 

In our flagship Cup – The Sir John Jackson Cup;

Nanaimo Utd defeated VI Wave 3-1.

Cowichan LMG defeated Gorge FC 2-1.

Nanaimo will face Cowichan LMG on Sunday April 2 at a kickoff time of 2:30 pm at RAP.

Nanaimo now joins Cowichan as a confirmed entry for the BC Provincial A Cup.

 

In our Masters Cup – The Tony Grover Memorial Cup;

Vic West defeated Castaways 1-0.

Cowichan 49ers defeated Saanich Fusion Old School 1-0

Cowichan and Vic West will battle on Sunday April 2 with a kickoff time of 12 noon at RAP.

Vic West now earn a Provincial Cup berth.  Cowichan has already confirmed a spot through league play –

whether or not it is a seeded spot will be decided in the last home game vs UVic Alumni.

 

In our Recreational Cup – The George Pearkes Challenge Cup;

Mid Isle Mariners defeated Fernwood 4-2

Gorge United defeated Castaways 1-0.

Gorge & Mid Isle will square off Saturday April 1, kickoff at 12 noon.

Both Gorge & Mid Isle earn BC Soccer Provincial B Cup berths by reaching the Final.

 

Already decided in our Under 21 Graduate Cup – The George Smith U21 Cup;

Juan de Fuca will be up against Mid Isle Mariners on Saturday April 1, kicking off at 2:30 pm

Mid Isle has already qualified as the seeded team for the BC Soccer tournament as a Divisional winner,

the remaining spots will be confirmed when the Final has a Champion.
