KAMLOOPS, BC –– The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) is once again offering a variety of programming in its soccer dome in Mt. Paul during the winter months.
The line-up for the 2017-18 Centre of Excellence winter programs includes four components: Striker School, for the more committed and capable player wanting to score goals and improve their competitive play; Goalkeeper Development, skill development combined with competitive play; Small Group Training, for the focused keener wanting detailed attention and improvement in several technical areas, and Super Skillz Game Night, weekly skill sessions combined with competitive play, open to all abilities.
For those players who enjoy the goalkeeping position and want to develop their shot-stopping skills, there are two sessions scheduled for Mondays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm for U9 to U11 boys and girls and 6:45pm to 8:00pm for players aged U12 to U14+. The cost to register is $175 per player.
The Striker School is geared toward developing players into goal scorers––regardless of their position. There are two sessions being offered on Mondays: 5:30pm to 6:45pm for U9 to U11 players and 6:45pm to 8:00pm for U12 to U14+ players. The cost is $175 per player.
Small Group Training is a new initiative this year tailored to players who are focused and keen to polish their skills. The groups will be limited to a maximum of 8 players. There are three sessions being offered on Tuesdays: 5:30pm to 6:30pm for U9 to U11 players and 7:30pm to 8:30pm for U12 to U14 players and 7:30pm to 8:30pm for U15 to U17 boys and girls. The registration fee is $250 per player.
The Super Skillz Game Night will be a relaxed, fun and supportive environment that will support each player to further their love for the game while they gain greater confidence in their abilities. There are two options scheduled: Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm for U5 to U8 players and 6:45pm to 8:00pm for U9 to U13+ players, and Thursdays for the same age groups at the same times. The registration fee is $120 per player (single Day) and $200 for (both days).
Plans are also afoot to offer half and full day camps during Spring Break and in the summer months. More details will be available closer to Spring Break.
The KYSA’s indoor programs are held over 10 weeks and are scheduled to begin October 10th onward.
