Time is running out for parents who wish to register their children with the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association for the 2016 season.

Players must be registered by Monday, February 1st to, (a) avoid a $25 late registration fee and, (b) ensure their children are placed on a KYSA team.

Anyone registering after February 1st is not guaranteed a place on a team and will have to pay a $25 penalty if there is space available on an existing team roster.

House League registration fees for the upcoming season, which starts in mid-April, are $200 for players in the U5 to U10 age groups and $220 for players in the U11 to U18 divisions.

The KYSA registers approximately 3500 players annually in a combination of their House and Select programs.

House teams generally play locally against each other whereas KYSA Select teams compete in the Thompson-Okanagan Youth Soccer League (against teams from Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Penticton and Vernon), in invitational tournaments throughout BC and Washington State, and in Provincial Cup competitions in late June and early July.

Select team rosters for the 2016 season were finalized last year.

Parents can register their children and pay their fees on-line at www.kysa.net or by stopping by the KYSA office on McArthur Island should they require assistance in registering on-line.

The KYSA office is open between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, Tuesday through Friday. The office will also be open extended hours to accommodate parents wanting to ensure they register their children on time:

Saturday/Sunday, January 30/31 – 9:00am to 4:00pm

Monday, February 1 –  9:00am to 7:00pm
