BC Soccer Web teams up with Pacific Soccer Coaching Conference

As part of our future commitment to providing the best tools and resources to grassroots soccer, BC Soccer Web is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the Pacific Soccer Coaching Conference. This groundbreaking event takes place June 5th through 7th at the Fortius Sport & Health complex in Burnaby, BC.

It’s no secret that we need more coaches and better coaching in Canada. When we look at the state of soccer nations that consistently do well on the world stage, one of the characteristics that always stands out are advanced coaching techniques and tactics. Learning to be a good coach isn’t just for those involved in training high performance athletes. At the grassroots level, good coaching can make all the difference between a young player learning to love soccer for life or dropping it all together after a few years.

That’s why BC Soccer Web has teamed up with the Pacific Soccer Coaching Conference. This important event has been organized by Vancouver United and seven grassroots clubs to bring some of the best coaching and soccer development techniques to Western Canada. The conference features noted soccer educators such as:

  • Dick Bate – Technical Advisor to FIFA
  • Huw Jennings, Academy Director for Fulham
  • Willie McNab Academy Manager for Celtic
  • Lisa Cole from WPS & the NCAA
  • Bob Browaeys, Belgium U-17 coach
  • Tony Waiters, former Canada World Cup manager
  • Ron Smith, Former Technical Manager, Australia FA

Besides gaining years worth of knowledge in a single weekend, the conference has also partnered with the BC Soccer Assoc., the Scottish FA and the NSCAA to offer three invaluable certifications that will carry your coaching to the next level. There’s also workshops especially designed for club administrators and board members.

“Inspiring Coaches to Learn” is the theme for the Pacific Soccer Coaching Conference. At every level of the game, coaches make a difference and can inspire players to new heights and enjoyment of soccer. You owe it to yourself to become the best coach you can be. We hope you will take this rare opportunity to learn from some of the best coaching minds around.
