Three Whitecaps Make MLS Team of the WeekEighty-Six Forever
Three members of the Vancouver Whitecaps have been recognized for their play in the club’s win over the Houston Dynamo over the weekend. Andrew Jacobson, the midfielder who started at Center Back, Goalkeeper David Ousted, and Captain Pedro Morales all made the cut.

Whitecaps gaining confidence with win over Dynamo Red Nation Online
The Vancouver Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo continued a busy week of football action at BC Place. After watching Mexico beat Canada 3-0 on Friday night, 22,120 spectators filled BC Place to watch Vancouver and Houston. The Whitecaps had the better scoring opportunities through 90 minutes and came away with a 1-0 win thanks to a Pedro Morales converted penalty. The Chilean midfielder now leads the MLS Golden Boot race with 4 goals scored and all from the spot.

Whitecap Roundup: Undermanned VWFC & Baby ‘Caps Claim 6 Points Northern XI
It’s been a superb weekend for Vancouver soccer from a record breaking home attendance for the Canadian men’s national team on Friday at BC Place, to matching 1-0 victories from both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Whitecaps FC 2, all the way to a 2-1 Canadian U-20 upset over England on the backs of goals from Whitecaps players Kadin Chung and Marco Bustos.

My experience as a travelling Whitecaps supporterThe Peak
Due to their close proximity, the Seattle Sounders have been rivals since the old days of the NASL. That fierce competition between the two cities has only intensified since both teams joined MLS. One advantage of only being a two-and-a-half hour drive away is that opposing fans can make the trip to cheer on their team. On Saturday, nearly 1,000 Whitecaps supporters, many of them Southsiders (members of a Vancouver Whitecaps supporters group) made the trip down the I-5 to cheer on the boys in white. I was such a fan, joining in on the Southsider bus trip.

Giovani dos Santos returns to full training ahead of Vancouver Whitecaps FC match LA Galaxy
Giovani dos Santos is back to full training according to LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena.  The 26-year-old forward was an active participant in training on Monday, taking part in all drills during the portion that was open for media availability. Dos Santos has been sidelined with a left leg injury since the first half of the Galaxy’s March 6 win over D.C. United.

Fully healthy Nigel de Jong expecting to play against Vancouver Whitecaps FC LA Galaxy
Nigel de Jong says that the knock he suffered at the end of the LA Galaxy’s victory over the San Jose Earthquakes will not keep him out of this weekend’s match with Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

2016 MLS Season, Week 4: What we learnedBig D Soccer
The schedule in week four was a light one in Major League Soccer thanks to the international window being played. While most of the league’s teams were on a break, six teams were out on the field for 90 minutes looking for more points in the early part of this season.

Houston Dynamo’s loss can be blamed on midfield shortcomings, not on the referee Dynamo Theory
The Houston Dynamo lost the midfield battle, and that’s why they ended up losing the game in Vancouver.

Maple Leaf Soccer: A 2016 Canadians in MLS round-up (Wk 4)AFTN
With only three matches in MLS this past weekend due to the international calendar (and there shouldn’t even have been any), that meant limited minutes for Canadian players this week, so we’ll keep our Week 4 update brief.

Vancouver: The undisputed soccer capital of Canada Van City Buzz
Vancouver is the soccer capital of Canada. Period. I don’t care if the “national soccer stadium” is/was supposed to be in Toronto. The home for both national teams is in Vancouver and this is where they belong. If there was any doubt about this before, it should be all gone given the support shown in this city for soccer in the last year.

Carlo Ancelotti – Allenatore.Montecristo Magazine
Even in Vancouver, his fame and his influence are remarkable. This past Major League Soccer season, New York City FC flew in to play the local Vancouver Whitecaps. The New York team features three European league stars, who have for various reasons decided to bring their careers to a close in North America: Andrea Pirlo, David Villa, and Frank Lampard. These highly decorated players, all veterans and champions in their own right, played in the Vancouver match, and had dinner with Ancelotti as well. It was a meeting of the minds.

The Mexico Diaries: Part 2- Taking the Capital Waking the Red
As the plane began its descent over Mexico City the sun blinded me as I looked out the window. Mountains surrounded the valley we were destined to land in. As we neared the airport, and drew closer to the world below, us tiny tin rooftops began to scatter themselves among the green leafed trees. With each passing minute the roofs grew in higher and higher density until the only trees left could be seen where people had chosen not to build houses. Mexico showed why they were host to some of the largest favelas in the world – there were no limits to where they would live.

Young Canadians turn heads in England, offer soccer promise for the futureWinnipeg Free Press
