The field has been set for the 2017 Toyota National Championships men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy finals. Although the end products are essentially the same, the New York Cosmos‘ (1-2-6, 9 Fall; 7-6-12, 33 Combined) 2-2 draw with the San Francisco Deltas (2-1-4, 10 Fall; 9-5-9, 36 Combined) on Wednesday did not produce the same celebratory mood at MCU Park as the 3-3 draw the Cosmos rallied to three days before. England’s national women’s soccer team reached new heights under coach Mark Sampson. After never making it past the quarterfinals in three previous appearances, the Lionesses finished third at the 2015 World Cup, and earlier this year they conceded just one goal on their way to the Euro 2017 semifinals before falling to the host Netherlands.
