The UBC Thunderbirds defeated the No. 2 ranked Trinity Western Spartans 3-0 in the Canada West gold medal match Sunday afternoon in the final of the Select Six tournament. The victory makes it two straight Canada West championships for the Thunderbirds.

BC Soccer Assoc. Releases their 2015-2016 Year in Review – BCSA
After another successful year of soccer in British Columbia, BC Soccer Assoc. is pleased to release their 2015-2016 Year in Review. The creation of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program, delivery of a FIFA Live Your Goals Festival, along with the numerous Grassroots Festivals across the province and Coach Education highlight some of the major successes this past year.

IMPORTANT: If you are coaching in the ages U6-U12 you are required to complete the age appropriate course(s) even if you have a higher level of certification (ie. Soccer for Life, B pretest, C License, B License or A License). In order to enable our membership to deliver on the coaching mandate, BC Soccer Assoc. will be scheduling Learning Facilitator training sessions to assist organizations to have qualified individuals to deliver in-club coach certification courses to their coaches.

Westhills Stadium & Goudy Park in Langford hosted the 2016 BC Soccer Adult Provincial Cup Finals. It was a thrilling weekend of soccer on Vancouver Island that saw seven champions crowned. Richmond FC & Surrey Pegasus qualified for the National Championships this Fall in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Both Coquitlam Metro-Ford Masters & Classics sides qualified for the Western Canadian Masters Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In all, it was a clean sweep for teams from the VMSL & MWSL. Monique Lamoureux & Bill Currie from BC Soccer Web were on location that weekend, capturing the all the action.

The Cape Breton Capers are the 2016 AUS men’s soccer champions. The second-seeded Capers scored a 3-1 win over the top-ranked Acadia University Axemen, at BMO Centre, in Fredericton.
StFX X-Women claim 2016 AUS women’s soccer banner – AUS
The St. Francis Xavier X-Women defeated the Acadia Axewomen 2-1 (3-2 in penalty kicks). The teams battled back and forth on a cold day of excellent women’s soccer that saw the No. 4-seeded X-Women continue their improbable run to the title.

CS Mont-Royal Outremont Griffons and Vaughan Azzurri battled to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Inter-Provincial Cup at Terrebonne Complexe Sportif on Saturday November 5 – leaving everything still to play for between the Quebec and Ontario champions heading into the November 12 second leg at the Pickering Soccer Centre.
Huskies women’s soccer team wins bronze at Canada West finals, earns CIS championship berth – Star-Phoenix
Taneil Gay and the rest of the University of Saskatchewan women’s soccer team will be spending next weekend at Acadia University after Gay’s goal in Sunday’s Canada West bronze medal match gave the Huskies a 1-0 victory over the MacEwan University Griffins and a berth at the CIS championships.
Big 12 Women: Canadian stars rescue No. 1 West Virginia – Soccer America
No. 1 West Virginia rallied for a 3-2 overtime win over TCU in the Big 12 final at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City. The Mountaineers came back from 2-0 down to win their third title since moving to the Big 12.

Indy Eleven, meanwhile, rode their defense and a stunning Sinisa Ubiparipovic strike to topple FC Edmonton at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
IT’S A DATE: Cosmos to host NASL final next Sunday – Big Apple Soccer
The Championship Final is set and it will feature the top two sides from the North American Soccer League season. Spring season champion Indy Eleven knocked off FC Edmonton, 1-0, Saturday to book its place in the league’s title game. Just a few hours later, the fall season champion Cosmos did the same, coming from behind to top visiting Rayo OKC, 2-1.
