It’s Tico Time in Vancouver as Waston steers Whitecaps to vital victory over Atlanta – AFTN
After a couple of disappointing results the Whitecaps returned to winning ways beating expansion club Atlanta United 3-1, led by a brace from Kendall Waston, after the visitors had taken an early lead through Greg Garza. Fredy Montero added an insurance goal in the second half to give Vancouver a vital victory over a dangerous Atlanta side.

Carl Robinson promised an end-to-end affair on Saturday afternoon. And Vancouver Whitecaps FC (6W-6L-1D) did not disappoint, cruising to a dominant 3-1 win over new MLS darlings Atlanta United FC (5W-5L-3D) at BC Place.

MLS Week 14: Coming back at home – US Soccer Players
The stories in week 16 of the 2017 MLS season were teams coming back at home and more shutouts. The shutouts started with Friday’s game. Portland shutout San Jose 2-0 at Providence Park. San Jose went down a man with a second yellow to Darwin Ceren in the 37th minute for unsporting behavoir. Diego Valeri put the Timbers up in the 50th minute and scored again four minutes into stoppage time. Jake Gleeson only needed one save for the clean sheet.

A wonderful solo goal from attacking “menace” Zach Verhoven and another fantastic goalkeeping display from Andrew Hicks earned ten man TSS FC Rovers a point in a 1-1 draw with Portland Timbers at Swangard Stadium on Friday night.
