It certainly feels like rock bottom for Vancouver Whitecaps after one of the worst performances we’ve seen in their eight MLS seasons so far. The scary thing is, it isn’t. There’s still a long way to fall yet, they’re actually still third in the West after all, but the burning question after Friday night’s 6-0 demolition at Sporting Kansas City, is does this team have the moxie to halt the slide not and get back to the top or are we in for a tortuous few months of football?

The Canada Soccer Para Team is coming to Victoria BC on April 29 to host an open tryout. Coached by British Columbia resident Drew Fergusson the team competes globally making this a great opportunity to represent your home country in various locations across the world. To compete on the Canada Soccer Para team you have to have one of three disabilities; mild cerebral palsy, recovering from a stroke, or acquired brain injury.

CONCACAF has canceled the rest of its 2018 Women’s Under-17 Championship following violence in Managua, Nicaragua, where the tournament began Thursday. (Editor’s note: At the time of posting, there are credible reports that Canada’s U17 Women’s team are safe and on a flight headed to Miami.)

Ontario’s Toronto Idolo Futsal defeated Québec’s Sporting Montréal FC 6:1 to earn their first Futsal Canadian Championship title on 22 April, at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Last year’s silver medalists, Saskatoon Olimpia SK FC earned a bronze medal with a 5:2 victory over Québec’s Sporting Québec FC. Community members are considering legal action to delay the construction of a new soccer field at an Old East Ottawa high school. Earlier this year, The Ottawa Catholic School board signed a 21-year-deal with the Ottawa Footy Sevens to build a $2-million field at Immaculata High School.
