The Vancouver Whitecaps are no longer pointless. The ‘Caps got their 2019 season off and running at the fourth attempt on Saturday evening, earning a hard fought point in a goalless draw at home to the still unbeaten Seattle Sounders at BC Place. It wasn’t a classic Cascadia Cup encounter by any means, but for the Whitecaps it was a performance that showed signs of steadying the ship and was built upon an extremely resolute defensive display.

What started out as a normal weekend of soccer turned frightening for the hundreds of Kamloops Youth Soccer Association players and families attending a tournament in Surrey yesterday. Surrey RCMP responded to Newton Athletic park around 1:50 p.m yesterday afternoon (Mar. 30) after reports came in of a man with a firearm in the area.

Canada Soccer and Women’s National Team Player Association Reach Compensation Agreement – CSA
Canada Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Players’ Association which represents members of Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team have reached a two-year compensation agreement through 2020. The agreement covers payments made to Canada Soccer Women’s National Team Players, performance and roster bonuses for competitions including the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 and general terms relating to image rights use, player appearances, travel and accommodation.

Canada Soccer negotiated the deal with the Canadian Soccer Players’ Association, formed in 2016 to formalize negotiations. The agreement essentially covers major tournaments and qualifying competitions as well as performance bonuses.
