B.C. U12 Side Travel to Spain to Play Youth Academies

– submitted by Edward Pereira to BC Soccer Web

A group of talented U12 footballers are heading out soon for an unlikely but dreamy journey to Spain next week to play the local youth academy teams of Levante, Valencia, Athletico Madrid, and Real Madrid – some of Spain’s most revered professional football clubs. This U12 Spain 2015 Travelling Team is embarking on an early soccer career experience that is unprecedented for Lower Mainland youth soccer players of this age.

Comprising GOLD-level players mostly from West Vancouver Soccer Club, but also North Vancouver FC, and Cliff Avenue United FC of Burnaby, this team will conclude their 4-month preparation with an exhibition game against Coquitlam Metro Ford Barca, one of the top U12 GOLD teams in the Lower Mainland. This game is taking place Tuesday July 28 at Sutherland High School at 4:00pm.

We think this is a unique soccer journey for these boys (and families alike!). We are planning to keep friends and families abreast of our progress via Twitter –  @WVSoccer2Spain from August 5 through August 17 when the tour concludes in Madrid.
