First introduced in 1933, the McGavin Cup served as a tournament that supported injured players.
As it evolved, in most recent years, it was a pre-season tournament that teams used to figure out their teams and some Associations ran as a fundraiser for their Club. Now, it is considered to be the most inclusive, widest range FA style tournament in BC. All teams in the VISL are eligible except for the top 5 of Division 1.
This year’s Final will take place this upcoming Tuesday Nov 10 at Layritz Turf. Kickoff at 8:15 pm. Layritz turf will soon have the completed clubhouse for the Prospect Lake Soccer Club.
Prospect Lake Lakers of Division 2 are hosting Juan de Fuca of Division 3.
